My name is Donna Ryan. I am a 44 year old woman who currently resides in Port Charlotte, Florida. After serving my family for over 20 years, an unexpected but necessary divorce has afforded me an exciting opportunity to invest myself in endeavors I may have otherwise possibly never known.

As a career homemaker and home schooling mother of six wonderful children, I have developed unique skills along with a valuable knowledge base that I wouldn't have acquired in any other field. Even while in the position of authority, I lead with the heart of a servant believing deeply in the words of a great teacher who said that the greatest leaders were made from those that would serve whom they would lead.

I believe in setting the example for others to follow and have a natural ability to train, encourage and inspire others. I have excellent verbal and written communication skills that I enjoyed working hard to hone and am very proud of.
I am not afraid to get my hands dirty but I have a natural tendency to encourage "clean hands" with those working around me. I am honest to a fault and am considered to have a sharp wit, a great disposition and an uncanny ability to cope with difficult situations and people. Working under pressure and keeping a cool head comes naturally to me and I can do it with a sincere smile. People that know me say that I am likable, hard working and values driven. I strive to be a woman of excellent character and integrity whether I'm alone at my leisure or working with others. I have an extremely high standard for myself and try hard to maintain it no matter what I'm doing.
I would like to note here that I volunteered my time and resources to help my ex-husband run a successful home business for 15 years. Because of this, I have a solid grasp on general office procedures, business skills and true customer service. I have worked very hard over the years and I worked for free. I was on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week and never called in sick or asked for pregnancy leave. What I lack in professional employment verification I can more than make up for in reputable character references.
My office skills are well rounded and up to date for a small business. Being a fast learner, I would adapt easily to a larger business environment. I am a fast and accurate typist. I consider myself to have excellent spelling, grammar and punctuation skills. I'm a good proof-reader and have an eye for detail. I am computer and internet literate and am comfortable using Windows, Linux, Mac and virtual machines. I have practiced bookkeeping skills on both the computer and the old fashioned way, having been trained on the original One Write Bookkeeping System. I am not limited to relying solely on software; I am versatile in keeping figures and filing information in any manner. I am particularly good at correspondence and writing up contracts, proposals and estimates. I know that I have a knack for keeping customers happy and my phone etiquette is impeccable. I can operate all manners of office machinery and I run a mean file cabinet! I work well independently and with others. I take direction well while at the same time am self motivated to trouble shoot on my own. I like to stay busy and have no trouble finding things that need to be done on my own if I've completed tasks earlier than I was expected to.
I like to learn. I study for fun. I am currently engrossed in teaching myself computer repair and forensics and have begun classes in computer science. Even the words Information Technology make me feel happy. I am an avid reader and an accomplished musician. I love to write and love anything to do with language and communication. I thrive with good conversation and discussing deep things. I thoroughly enjoy problem solving and analyzing. I am a brand new Star Trek fan and consider Captain Kathryn Janeway a role model.
This is my first attempt at creating something that would convey about myself what a resume might. I do understand that it is not a conventional one neither is it one that every employer is able to accept. A resume is supposed to accurately represent a person and I wanted to try to portray an accurate and transparent representation of myself and my objective. It is my desire to find a solid match for who I am and what I can do for the right company. I was forced into retirement in my position as homemaker, never expecting to have to switch careers at 44 years old but I am loyal to a fault and I am confident that I would be a valuable asset to the right team.
